Excellent Service Call
Jesse - Little Elm, TX 75068
Showed up exactly on-time (called ahead) and was very professional and thorough. Had very good knowledge of the washer and our issue. Unfortunately, it was not repairable at a reasonable price… bad bearings. He then shared with us recommendations on what to look for in a new machine.

As always, Action Appliance has helped us again. Jimmy came and found the problem with our washer almost immediately. Needed to get the part and came the very next day with it to fix. He noticed we had not put the new dryer cord on the dryer since we had just moved in and said he could put it on if we wanted. He checked to make sure both washer and dryer were working properly and gave us a couple of tips about things. He is such a great guy!!

Samsung dryer runs for a minute then stops- The drive motor has failed. It most likely failed due to the rear drum support rollers seizing and causing a restriction on the drum turning. We will need to replace the drive motor along with the 2 rear drum support rollers. Customer has declined to repair.

Kenmore 500 series dryer- dryer will not tumble. I detained the lid switch broke. Since the lid switch is broken the dryer does not know if the door is closed or open and will not start a cycle. We replaced the door switch and now the dryer is working as intended. 90 day warranty on parts replaced and labor performed

Ge dryer- dryer is producing heat but is not drying the clothes efficiently. I found the termination cap for the dryer exhaust duct has a wire screen that got plugged up with lint and was causing back pressure into the dryer. I removed the wire screen from the termination cap and cleaned up the exhaust duct. Dryer should now be working as intended.

Whirlpool top load washer- washer is making a loud grinding noise when it gets to the spin portion of the cycle. The clothes come out soaking wet like it never spun. I determined the drive hub that connects the inner tub to the transmission shaft has worn down due to the splines on the transmission shaft rusting out and damaging the drive hub. We will need to replace the transmission along with the drive hub to fix the issue.

Whirlpool cabrio top load washer- washer is not letting her choose the cycles and is continuously beeping at her when she tries to push any of the buttons. The washer has been sitting in the garage for 2 years. I found an error message in the diagnostic system for a failing lid lock. I was able to confirm the lid lock is bad by checking the ohms readings. I am worried the display board is bad as well but I would not know until the lid lock is replaced.

Whirlpool cabrio top load washer- washer is sounding louder during the spin cycle. I determined the seal that stops water from going in to the bearings is deteriorating and is allowing water to get on to the bearings and is rusting them out. The bearings are not sold separately from the drive assembly. It will not be cost effective to repair.

Ge dishwasher- washer is not draining the water out of the tub and also the door is not latching properly without having to use something to prop it up. The draining issue was being caused by the air gap being clogged with foreign objects. Removed foreign objects and now the dishwasher is draining as intended. The latching issue I was able to address by pulling out the dishwasher and leveling it and also putting weight down on the metal band where the door latches that way it can make proper contact with the striker on the door. If the issue comes back, we will need to replace the door hinges and the door latch. At that point, it will not be cost-effective repair in my opinion.

Kenmore elite front load washer- washer is tripping breaker whenever you power it on. Electrician came out and did something to the breaker and said to call us out just to make sure the washer is fine. The washer did not trip for me during my diagnostic testing. From what I can tell, none of the components seem to be having troubles. The only thing I did notice is there is brown water stains on the inside of the washer by the bearings. That indicates the bearings are leaking water due to the bearing seal wearing out. Usually when that happens, there is a noise indication during the spin cycle but during the spin cycle test the washer sounded normal. Those water stains could be from a previous repair in the past, but the customer does not recall of any repairs involving the bearings. Keep an eye on the washer. If the issue persist, I would say the next step is to replace the bearings and the associated hardware along with the drive motor.

Washer issue- washer is starting a cycle but not filling with water. Customer informed me she had some plumbing work done before the issue happened. I found that the washer water supply valves on the wall were turned off. I turned them back on and now the washer is filling with water. Ran a calibration cycle and everything went through as intended.

Washer issue- washer is sounding louder during the spin and is not spinning the water out of the clothes as well anymore. I determined that the transmission is leaking oil onto the drive pulley and belt and causing it to slip during its spin cycle. We will need to replace a transmission to fix the issue. Customer has declined to repair.
